Coats and Jackets can be worn to School; however,
these item are not to be worn on campus during school hours.
A designated location will be arranged for these Items to be placed during school hours.

Dress Code Purpose
The purpose of the School Uniform Policy is to provide additional opportunities for increased school safety, to encourage our students to
experience a greater sense of school identity and belonging, to encourage an improvement in student behavior, to reduce school clothing costs, to
a high level of program participation and to improve and expand academic excellence.

Dress Code Appearance
Administrators and Facilitators of The Beverly Institute shall enforce dress and grooming guidelines that promote the successful operation of the
School. The site administration shall be the final judge as to neatness and cleanliness of wearing apparel and whether or not such apparel is
appropriate, disruptive, distracting, or in violation of health and safety rules.

Each student has the responsibility to dress appropriately for the school environment. Wearing apparel, jewelry (such as body piercing(s)
ornaments) hair, and general appearance shall not disrupt to the classroom atmosphere, shall not be unusually provocative, and/or shall not violate
health and safety rules of the school. These guidelines for dress and grooming are provided to assist parents and shall apply to all students
attending The Beverly Institute. Student dress and grooming shall be neat and clean, and follow the general guidelines below.

  • All students must be in uniform everyday or they will not be allowed on campus.
  • Students must wear the issued uniform or they will not be allowed on campus.
  • Male students must wear their pants pulled up at all times.  Belts are also required to be worn at all times with uniform.
  • The wearing of braided hair or cornrows by male students is not be permissible.  
  • Male student’s afros cannot be longer then an 1 ½ inch. Beads, combs or ribbons in the hair, or any hairstyle with ponytails are not
    permitted for male students.
  • All hairstyles should be clean, combed and well groomed at all times.
  • Halter-tops, tank tops, backless tops, top with thin or no straps, or tops that show midriff or expose the body are prohibited at anytime on
    school campus (even on dress down days).
  • See-through or mesh garments shall not be worn at anytime on school campus.
  • Overly tight and oversize clothing shall not be worn on school campus.
  • Clothing and accessories shall not be worn if they display profanity, violence, lewd and obscene messages, sexually suggestive phrases, or
    advertisements, phrases or symbols of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs or other.
  • Symbols phrases or advertisements that would be offensive to common propriety or decency. These garments are not to be worn under
    TBI Uniform at any time on Center Property.
  • Head coverings, including, but not limited to, caps, hats, bandannas, hair curlers, and/or sunglasses, shall not be worn on Center property,
    unless required by a physician or authorized by school personnel.
  • Underwear, midriff and back may not be exposed. If belts, suspenders, and straps are worn, they shall be worn in place and fastened.
  • Any articles of clothing or jewelry that may cause injury to one self or to other students are not allowed.
  • Wearing apparel, jewelry (such as body piercing(s) ornaments) hair, and general appearance shall not disrupt the classroom atmosphere,
    shall not be unusually provocative, and/or shall not violate health and safety rules of the school.
  • All students enrolled in a P.E. Course are required to change out for class.
  • This code of appearance shall also apply to all school-sponsored activities and events, unless authorized by school administration.
  • No hats worn in building during the school day.
  • No sunglasses worn in building during the school day.
  • No clothing and/or other items that are not schooled issued.
  • No visible undergarments
  • No detachable gold teeth or fangs (unless required by a dentist with written documentation on file). NO GRILLS

Anything else the principal or designee deems inappropriate or disruptive to the education environment will be prohibited. Administrative Guideline
