Class I Offense and Consequences
NOT PERMITTED – CLASS I OFFENSE
Littering
Dress code violation
Not doing assigned work
Talking without permission
Throwing objects
Lacking class materials
Failure to follow directions
Off task behavior
Chewing gum
Eating/ drinking in class
P.E. Uniform violation
Disorderly conduct in lunch area
Unprepared for class

Class I offenses are the most common class of offenses that occur.  Although some
of the offenses listed in this class may appear to be insignificant and trivial, these
offenses can drastically interfere and disrupt the learning process.

Consequences may be implemented for class I offenses:
1.        Warning/ Counseling
2.        Parent called
3.        1 Demerit  
1 demerit: After School Detention or In-School Suspension   
3 demerits: Receive Referral and (2) Saturday School  
6 demerits: (1 or 2) days Suspension  
Students receiving multiple demerits within a 2 / 3 days period will
receive an automatic (1 or 2 day suspension).
Parents not wishing for student to serve After School
Detention or Saturday school will have to serve an
Out of School Suspension.
