Explanation of Discipline Procedures
1. A category II offense will result in an automatic in-school suspension, which is
to be served the day following the offense. The dean will notify a parent when a
category II offense has occurred as well as send home written notification.
2. A category III and IV offense will result in an automatic suspension, which is to
be served the day following the offense.
3. If a student is suspended for any Category III or IV offense in any semester of a
given school year, he/she will be place on disciplinary probation.
4. A student who is on suspension will not be permitted to participate in any
extra-curricular activities or sporting events on the day of the suspension.
5. Students placed on disciplinary probation will remain on probation for a full
semester. If the student enters probationary status in the spring of a school year,
the will remain on probation for the fall of the next school year.
6. Students who receive 2 category III or IV referrals within a semester may be
asked to withdraw form TBI.
7. A student on disciplinary probation will not be permitted to participate in any
extra-curricular activities or team sports.
8. The first suspension a student receives in a school year will be served during
school hours (excluding a category III or IV offense). The dean, who will assign the
on-campus location of the suspension, oversees suspension for the day. The
student will be required to complete all assigned class work, along with any other
duties assigned by the dean on the day of the suspension.
