EDITORIALS ( 3 Grades per Quarter) Total 300 Points

The student should read from two sources (two magazines or a newspaper and a magazine) about the same
topic. On a sheet of notebook paper (with the proper heading), the student should write a bibliographical entry
for each source. After reading the two articles, the student should then write a concise, clear explanation of
his/her opinion. The student should include facts when necessary to support his/her viewpoint, and they
should use good descriptive adjectives and labels to definitely state their opinion. The editorial should be one
to two pages in length.

Students will develop their own opinions and to be able to clearly express what they believe or feel about a
certain issue. An editorial is
not a summary but a statement of the writer’s opinion.
